If you come at the right time of year, Hangman Creek offers some wonderful whitewater; you can hit the slopes at Mt. Spokane in close proximity. Solar World Estates North is a great place to get some rest. Lakes are pleasant; Bailey Lake is a lake that's right next door to Bear Lake. Jerry's Landing Resort, and you're most likely keen on lakes, Owens Lake is one of those close by. It is very dry here at Bear Lake ordinarily; all through the month of December you get the most snow around here while July is generally the driest month.

Situated in the southern Selkirk Mountains, the ski area has a unique climate due to its location one mile east of Flowery Trail Pass (4,046 ft) that produces moderate temperatures with consistent snow pack at higher elevations. The total snowfall at the ski area averages 300 inches or more, while the total average annual precipitation at the ski area is 36.10 inches, with 69 percent of the precipitation coming as snow between November to April.
