If you like lakes and you're in this part of Washington you can check out Bannock Lakes. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. There's whitewater on Stehekin River for all you adrenaline junkies, and Bannock Lakes is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, High Bridge Campground is a wonderful local campground. | | run the rapids of Downey Creek. Have a good hiking adventure along the Park Creek Trail, and Image Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Northern Cascade Range. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Icicle Inn. just can't picture the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the area close to Bannock Lakes has to offer. Bannock Lakes is right by the Pacific Crest Trail - section 26; if you're here, you could also explore charming Canyon Lake. Bannock
Lakes is one of the lakes here in the Northern Cascade Range. The warmest time of the year at Bannock Lakes comes with high temperatures in the 70's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Bannock Lakes.

 | 16 miles away Well, most of the information in this little blurb is wrong: The nearest Metro area is not Ellensburg, it is Leavenworth. Lake Elsley? I have never heard of it, and have been in the area for 30 years. There is no such place called Indian Ponds anywhere around the campground. Though a beautiful hike, Napeequa Crossing to Twin Lakes is not an easy stroll, it is approximately 3.2+ miles one way, with many switchbacks, and to the average city person, a hard slog. This Article makes it sound like White river falls are on the way to Twin Lakes, which they are not. They are reached by driving on up the valley 5 more miles or so to the correct turnout. Also, it should be mentioned that from the beginning of camping season till Mid August, you should slather yourself in Bug repellant to keep from being eaten alive by Mosquitoes. The campground is located on the confluence of the White and Napeequa Rivers, which flow into Lake Wenatchee.... |
