Baker Pond is a nice lake to visit. Not much rain falls here at Baker Pond; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Baker Pond; North Fork Asotin Creek Trail is a good local trail, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Grande Ronde River. And that's not all you can do here at Baker Pond.

| | Good hiking is available along the Bear Creek Trail. Don't leave Baker Pond without first paying a visit to Government Spring, and Arbothknott Canyon is a good place to spend some time. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Bluewood is just what you need; you can stay the night at Pataha Campground. Through the warm months, highs regularly are in the 80's at Baker Pond. are typically in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Baker Pond temperatures drop to the 20's. Go for a hike on the Tucannon River Trail, and Baker Pond is a brilliant location to visit for more than one day, Alder Thicket Campground is a brilliant location to camp nearby.
