You could also pop by Beaver Lake since you're here at Baker Pond; it's nearby; Baker Pond is right by the North Fork Asotin Creek Trail. Baker Pond is usually a rather dried up site; during December this area sees the most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid site to stop at near Baker Pond is Arbothknott Canyon, and why not take a refreshing       hike along the Bear Creek Trail. Man, is there heaps of entertaining stuff to do in the vicinity of Baker Pond. A trip to Government Spring will fill your spirit with nice feelings, and Pataha Campground is a good local campground. A wonderful place for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Baker Pond is Grande Ronde River; the Tucannon River Trail offers hiking at its best. Very lovely scenery and great skiing is what you get at Bluewood. Summertime highs                  at Baker Pond regularly tend to be in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Baker Pond.
