If you are traveling by, why not stop by Backbone Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things near Backbone Lake. There is a pleasant hiking trail in close proximity to Backbone Lake called the Tatoosh Trail, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by White Pass. | | period of the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Backbone Lake. That right there is a lot of fun things already but it goes on, the Northern Cascade Range has it all. Clear Fork Cowlitz River is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Backbone Ridge Trail. and July meanwhile is the driest month. Grant Purcell Falls is a gorgeous spot to go to while you're at Backbone Lake. There's so much to do here at Backbone Lake that you need to camp here for a while, River Bar Campground is a great
site for that. This lake is so wonderful. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Cowlitz River - Muddy Fork. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things in the Northern Cascade Range.
Big Bottom is right next door to Backbone Lake and is a good site, and splendid skiing awaits you at Crystal Mountain. Mount Rainier National Park is a perfect place next to Backbone Lake, and on a brilliant day you can take a hike
along the Packwood Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Ohanepecosh River, and you can stay the night at Hatchery RV Campground. Backbone Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Cascade Range.
