There's no way someone can get bored here in the Olympic Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Kent Lake is close by, and Uddenberg Dam is a place that is in close proximity to Armstrong Lake. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is plentiful here in the Olympic Mountains. If you're here, you might as well check out Little Egypt Valley. There's so much to do here at Armstrong Lake that you       need to camp here for a while, Pines Trailer and Recreational is a wonderful site for that. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Vance Creek; dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Shelton. If you need a location to stay Alderbrook Resort and Spa is a delightful choice, and you'll meet a lot of people from Shelton here. If only every site had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great earth it would be. Since you                  might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Catfish Lake, and a nice location for whitewater paddling is Skokomish River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. North Fork Goldsborough Creek is a magnificent local stream, and you can stay the night at YMCA Camp Bishop. At Armstrong Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Armstrong Lake drop into the 30's.
