Camping at Soundview Camp is always a nice experience, as expected you could also take a look at Florence Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Madrona Links Golf Course is a wonderful golf course close by; there are plenty of people from Olympia here. Through the warmest time of the year, highs commonly are in the 70's at Anderson Pond. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the duration

| | of the winter highs are frequently in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Anderson Pond. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things close to Anderson Pond. If you come at the right time of year, Nisqually River offers some good whitewater, and taking a little spree to nearby Baldwin Point is a brilliant idea. This lake is so wonderful. and a lake close by is Prison Farm Sewage Lagoon. Anderson Pond Dam is a stunning location right next door to Anderson Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Thornewood Castle Inn And Gardens. Anderson Pond is a wet location that
gets lots of rain; December is the wettest month with most rain; July meanwhile is the driest month. Camping is available at Gig Harbor Camping Resort, and if you need a location to stay Inn At Gig Harbor is a good choice.

Nisqually River
 | 13 miles away ...it is like most rivers, every year there is something new and unexpected. There are a few notable obstacles and log jams that have stuck over the past ten years or so. One of them is between McKenna and the Nisqually railroad trestle. It has been there as long as I can remember. But the river isn't too fast there and you should have plenty of time to get outta the way. The other problems are further down the river, the log jams that are past the Nisqually pines aren't too bad. Most of them are so far up on the river bank that only a few trees hang into the river ( not to say that there are none of them.) But the problem is that you raft right under the cliffs on FT. Lewis. They seem to like to throw cars off the cliffs and watch them hit the water.. Or this is a good way to dispose of stolen cars.. Because the water just churns and turns these cars into a spiky nightmare for the rafters and tubers of the Nisqually. I have yet to see one person go over the cars and not instantly blow there raft apart.. Just keep a good eye out for any colors that don't belong in the river. Sometimes i... |
