If you came to camp Poplar Flat Campground is a tremendous location to do that, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the West Fork Methow Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Lost River, and a pleasant trip to Gardner Meadows is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Abernathy Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; December is the wettest month with most snow while July       is mostly the driest month. Having a good time in the Northern Cascade Range is easy. Seatter Lake is a nice lake in the neighborhood of Abernathy Lake, and the top of Abernathy Peak is easily seen from Abernathy Lake. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Abernathy Lake that you need to camp here for a while, South Creek Campground is a delightful place for that, and the Monument                  Creek Trail is a splendid hiking trail nearby. At Abernathy Lake throughout the summer highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. During the winter the highs are commonly in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Abernathy Lake. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Abernathy Lake. If you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Methow River, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Driveway Butte Trail. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Northern Cascade Range has to offer.
