Youngs Brook Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Be careful coming to the Green Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Pico Mountain; if you're here you can take a hike along the Keewaydin Trail. Yeah, come up here to the Green Mountains for a wonderful time. West Rutland Municipal       Forest is worth visiting; since you're here, you could also go to charming Rocky Pond. Just can't get enough of Youngs Brook Reservoir. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Mill River, and this is a popular spot for people from Rutland. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Inn at Rutland, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Homer Stone Trail. Summertime brings highs in the                  80's to Youngs Brook Reservoir while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's while Youngs Brook Reservoir night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. The snow is wonderful at Killington, and enjoy a round of golf at Rutland Country Club. The Green Mountain Trail is a fine hiking trail in the vicinity of Youngs Brook Reservoir, and why not a little side trip to Ira Brook. This lake is so wonderful. If you feel like a little side journey, try Whipple Hollow; there's always Youngs Brook Dam to stop at in the vicinity of Youngs Brook Reservoir. Youngs Brook Reservoir is a good place of typical rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Youngs Brook Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Hapgood Pond - Green Mountain National Forest, and Muddy Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit.
