For the period of the warm months, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Lake Willoughby with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Lake Willoughby drop into the 0's. A quick trip to Mill Brook next to Lake Willoughby is a great idea, and you can have a good hiking adventure along       the South Shore Hiking Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Green Mountains. At Lake Willoughby you can see Valley Mountain, and a magnificent close by hotel is Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area. Lake Willoughby is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Will-o-wood Campground is a brilliant local campground, and if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Barton River. After a long day outdoors Holiday                  Motel and Annex is a tremendous location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Really wonderful skiing awaits you at Burke Mountain, and perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Duck Pond is just a very short distance away. All the outdoors fun things in the Green Mountains will keep you coming back time and again. A nice place for whitewater paddling close to Lake Willoughby is Clyde River, and hiking along the Mount Pisgah Trail is nice fun. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do next to Lake Willoughby. A glorious site to camp here at Lake Willoughby is White Caps Campground, and you can never get enough of the good skiing at Lyndon Outing Club. This lake is so wonderful. You could also pop by Blake Pond if you're here at Lake Willoughby; it's close by; do take a hike on the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail. Lake Willoughby is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains.
