    Wheeler Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Good hiking is available along the Glen Lake Trail; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Glen Lake. Take some time to pop by Fair Haven Municipal Forest while you're here, and if you came to camp Bomoseen State Park Campground is a fine place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Beaver Meadow is an exciting swamp near Wheeler Pond; why not take a refreshing  
   hike along the Half Moon Pond Trail.
Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Wheeler Pond. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Wheeler Pond. Be careful coming to Wheeler Pond, you might not ever wanna return home again. The nice people of Rutland like to hang out close by, and dry warm beds await you at Ticonderoga - Super 8 Motel. While you're here
 
               at Wheeler Pond you can play some golf at Prospect Bay Country Club, and whitewater paddling is great on Poultney River.
If you want a nice time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Wheeler Pond. Camping at Half Moon State Park Campground is always a great experience. The amount of rain that falls at Wheeler Pond is close to the national average; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. A spree to O'Brien Point next to Wheeler Pond is always a pleasant idea, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Ticonderoga Inn & Suites is a glorious location to spend a night or two.
This lake is so wonderful. Glen Lake Dam is an interesting thing to check out. Lakes? Sure, Moscow Pond is around here. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Wheeler Pond; Bomoseen Hiking Loop is a nice local trail, and the peak of Cedar Mountain can be seen from Wheeler Pond.

Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Fern Lake which is small and pristine.
At this campground you will always have a delightful time. Getting to Neshobe River from Country Village Campground is simple, and Middlebury River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby.

Outdoor recreation is bountiful, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is swimming, playing golf at Neshobe Golf Club, whitewater paddling, hiking, and fishing, so you won’t run out of things to do.

The folks who look after the campground and all the nice pastime activities will make you feel at home. Quite a lot of cool stuff to do next to Country Village Campground, and it's one of those places where everything is close.

If only every location had this much outdoor entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be. A tremendous place like Half Moon Pond State Park is near Country Village Campground and is too wonderful to leave out, and goin...

Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go. I am enclosing a picture i took on June 19th 2007....

White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak....
