Good hiking is available along the Glen Lake Trail; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Glen Lake. Take some time to pop by Fair Haven Municipal Forest while you're here, and if you came to camp Bomoseen State Park Campground is a fine place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Beaver Meadow is an exciting swamp near Wheeler Pond; why not take a refreshing       hike along the Half Moon Pond Trail. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Wheeler Pond. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Wheeler Pond. Be careful coming to Wheeler Pond, you might not ever wanna return home again. The nice people of Rutland like to hang out close by, and dry warm beds await you at Ticonderoga - Super 8 Motel. While you're here                  at Wheeler Pond you can play some golf at Prospect Bay Country Club, and whitewater paddling is great on Poultney River.
