Do stop by Warrior Lakes while you're in this part of Vermont. If you're here at Warrior Lakes, checking out Barber Ledge is a must. There's so much to do here at Warrior Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Half Moon State Park Campground is a great spot for that. | | golfers we recommend close by Prospect Bay Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is gorgeous, you obtain a wonderful sight of Signal Hill from Warrior Lakes, and a wonderful nearby hotel is Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury. Burr Pond Dam is not far at all from Warrior Lakes, and needless to say, this is a splendid neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Lake Hortonia is a lake around here. Lakes reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Warrior Lakes dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
Have a fine hiking adventure along the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Rutland. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Warrior Lakes has to offer, you can
camp at Big D Campground; since you're here you can take a hike along the Glen Lake Trail. After a long day outdoors The Middlebury Inn is a magnificent place to spend a night or two; get yourself into a kayak and hit Poultney River.
This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. From a precipitation point of view Warrior Lakes is a relatively common site; the month with most of the rain is August while February is typically the driest month.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Burr Pond; get wet paddling on Otter Creek.

Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Fern Lake which is small and pristine. At this campground you will always have a delightful time. Getting to Neshobe River from Country Village Campground is simple, and Middlebury River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby.
Outdoor recreation is bountiful, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is swimming, playing golf at Neshobe Golf Club, whitewater paddling, hiking, and fishing, so you won’t run out of things to do.
The folks who look after the campground and all the nice pastime activities will make you feel at home. Quite a lot of cool stuff to do next to Country Village Campground, and it's one of those places where everything is close.
If only every location had this much outdoor entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be. A tremendous place like Half Moon Pond State Park is near Country Village Campground and is too wonderful to leave out, and go... |

 | 12 miles away White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak.... |

Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go.  | 19 miles away South of Rutland rt 7 south to rt 140 east. Entrance is not easily seen. A up hill right off 140 then a quick left up hill, and a quick right again. Just a little sign. Before the right turn on 140 you will see white rocks used as drainage. the turn is shortly there after. Rocky road. Hope this helps.... |
