If you come at the right time of year, Mohawk River offers some perfect whitewater, and camping is available at Mohawk Valley Camping Area. For the duration of the summer highs here at Wallace Pond reach the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Wallace Pond       drop into the-10's. This is a popular location for people from Berlin, and there's brilliant hiking along the Number Six Road. The Gore Trail offers hiking at its best. All the outdoors fun stuff right next door to Wallace Pond will keep you coming back repeatedly. Some close by water includes Leach Creek, and on a pretty day you get a great vista of Canaan Hill from Wallace Pond. You can never get enough of the delightful skiing at Balsams Wilderness, and                  why not camp at Notch View if you're here at Wallace Pond. The yearly rainfall here at Wallace Pond is about average; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful.
