You can run the rapids of White River in close proximity to Vondell Reservoir, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Mount Peg Foot and Bridal Trails. A great close by hotel is The Woodstock Inn & Resort; there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Hang Glider Trail.
