Good hiking is available along the Mount Gore Trail. There's so much to do here at Turtle Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Char-Bo Campground is a great place for that. This lake is so wonderful. If you like swamps, you're in luck, The Loon Hole is right close by, unsurprisingly you could also take a look at Holland Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody       close by loves skiing at Burke Mountain, and Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a good place to get some rest. There are some great whitewater spots on Clyde River, and Turtle Pond is not the only site close by, Round Pond is a close by lake. Go for a hike on the Mount Pisgah East Trail, and you can stay the night at Char- BO Campground. Summer at Turtle Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's. Throughout                  the winter highs are commonly in the 20's; night lows at Turtle Pond through the wintertime commonly fall into the 0's. Turtle Pond is a good place of typical rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
