Townshend Dam is a place that is close to Townshend Reservoir, and hiking along the Hamilton Falls Trail is perfect fun. For the period of the warm days of summer at Townshend Reservoir highs are regularly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are typically in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Townshend Reservoir.       Bald Mountain is clearly visible from Townshend Reservoir, and Townshend Reservoir is right by the Overlook Trail. Windham Hill Inn is a great place to get some rest, and hey, Fair Brook is a great local stream. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Towns End Cottages is a great choice, and get your heart beating on the glorious whitewater of Wardsboro Brook. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of Magic Mountain are so inviting noone can                  resist, and camping at Townshend Reservoir is great fun, Bald Mountain Camp Ground is a great local campground. Some good nature is available in Townshend State Forest, and you can run the rapids of West River. Townshend Reservoir is a nice spot to camp, Camperama is a nice spot. The high level of rainfall makes Townshend Reservoir a relatively wet location; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. All the outdoors entertaining things near Townshend Reservoir will keep you coming back persistently.
