At Toad Pond through the summer highs are in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Toad Pond. This lake is one of the great places here in the Green Mountains. From a rainfall point of view Toad Pond is a pretty typical spot; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is when it's the driest. But wait, there's

| | more amusing stuff to do in the Green Mountains. Soar down the rapids of Nulhegan River in a kayak, and going for a hike on the Mount Pisgah East Trail is always a great adventure. Holiday Motel and Annex is a pleasant spot to get some rest, and you can go for a hike on the Mount Gore Trail. Having a good time in the Green Mountains is painless. The skiing at Burke Mountain is great, and there are wonderful sites to explore along the Pisgah Trail. I don't | |

want to stop, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Toad Pond. The peak of Mount John can be seen from Toad Pond; Toad Pond is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Char- BO Campground is a pleasant local campground. This lake
is so wonderful. Lyndon Outing Club is a great local ski area; if you get bored of Toad Pond you could also check out close by Seymour Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid spot to camp here at Toad Pond is Char-Bo Campground,
and Toad Pond is not the only place close by, Holland Pond is a close by lake. Paddling on Clyde River is so much fun; a good close by hotel is Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area.

It is a lake that talks to you, as far as my opinion goes. I lived in Newport,Newport Center (Bear Mountain) and Noth Troy when I was bewtween the ages of 9-13. I am now 42!
I just recently went back to Newport and that beautiful lake that talked to me, and i think it helped me figure out a part of my life that has been a little bit difficult to understand and move ahead. I Do have somr pictures in some old photo albumd, and I will make an effort to submit, Agian I am Surprised I am the first to comment on this Lake, it is ,as far as I am concerned one of the wonder of NEW ENGLAND!... |
