    Why not stop by Toad Pond if you're passing through these parts. Lakes? Sure, Pensioner Pond is nearby; if you need a place to stay Holiday Motel and Annex is a perfect choice. Toad Pond gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is one of the great places here in the Green Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. There's
 
   so much to do here at Toad Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Will-o-wood Campground is a great spot for that, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Burke Mountain. Good hiking is available along the Mount Pisgah Trail, and Pensioner Pond Dam is stunning. High temperatures at Toad Pond during the summer months are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's;  
               during the dark hours in the winter at Toad Pond temperatures fall to the 0's.
These mountains rock, just check out all the cool things to do in the Green Mountains. Pensioner Pond is a great lake in the vicinity of Toad Pond, and you can hit the beach if you want, Balm of Gilead Beach is practically right here. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Barton River; there's splendid hiking along the South Shore Hiking Trail. A quick trip to Moody Brook near Toad Pond is a good idea, and the Pisgah Trail offers hiking at its best.
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Toad Pond. Clyde River is a brilliant whitewater spot right next door to Toad Pond, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Toad Pond. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Green Mountains. If you came to camp Chargo Campground is a magnificent location to do that, and Lyndon Outing Club has glorious slopes and a friendly staff.
