     While you're here at Thompsons Pond you will meet lots of folks from close by Bennington, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Walloomsac River. You're possibly hooked on lakes, Barber Pond is one of those close by, and Thompsons Pond Upper Dam is a gorgeous location, undeniably worth a visit. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Thompsons Pond. Drift down the rapids of Green River in a kayak. There's so much to do here at Thompsons Pond that  
   you need to camp here for a while, Shady Acres Campground is a great site for that. If you need a spot to stay Best Value Inn Pownal/Williamstown is a perfect choice, and if you came to camp Merck Forest Foundation is a great location to do that.
Just can't get enough of Thompsons Pond. Thompsons Pond gets a common amount of rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. You'll never forgive
 
               yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Greylock Ski Club while you're here. Lakes are great; South Stream Pond is a lake that's close to Thompsons Pond.
This lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the glorious skiing at Jiminy Peak, and going for a hike on the Williams Trail is always a nice adventure. The Dome can be made out from Thompsons Pond, and there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Bald Mountain Trail. All through the months of summer at Thompsons Pond temperatures are generally in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are usually in the 30's while Thompsons Pond night low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at The Villager Motel; the Taconic Crest Trail is a fine hiking trail close by.
