Sweeney Pond is a pleasant site to visit for more than one day, Tree Corners Family Campground is a pleasant site to camp nearby, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Barton River. Man, is there lots of cool things       to do in the Green Mountains. If the weather is magnificent here at Sweeney Pond, you can go for a hike along the South Shore Hiking Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Sweeney Pond has to offer, you can camp at Belview Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and a delightful close by hotel is Fairbanks Inn. The Mount Pisgah                  Trail is a fine hiking trail in close proximity to Sweeney Pond, and you'll stumble on a striking lake called Daniels Pond. This lake is one of the great places here in the Green Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. At Sweeney Pond through the months of summer highs are in the 70's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter highs are mostly in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Sweeney Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. Sweeney Pond is a good site of typical precipitation; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest month is February. So many exciting things to do here in the Green Mountains, too magnificent to be true.
