Beautiful Swamp Pond has much to offer visitors. Lots of folks from Rutland come to Swamp Pond, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Neshobe Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury is a great choice, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Middlebury River. | | nearby, and if you come at the right time of year, Otter Creek offers some splendid whitewater.
The amount of precipitation that falls at Swamp Pond is close to the national average; through August this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Swamps don’t sound that wonderful but Brandon Swamp close to Swamp Pond is reasonably wonderful, and hiking along the Falls of Lana Trail is splendid fun. Just can't get enough of Swamp | |

Pond. Have a good hiking adventure along the Chandler Ridge Trail, and if the weather is wonderful, you obtain a great view of Bald Hill from Swamp Pond.
Smoke Rise Family Campground is a pleasant local campground; a splendid
nearby hotel is The Middlebury Inn. Arnold Brook is a great site to go to, and if you've had enough of Swamp Pond, Lake Dunmore is nearby. Through the days of summer highs here at Swamp Pond reach the 80's, and during the night it
cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Swamp Pond temperatures dip to the 0's.
Swamp Pond is right by the Nature Trail.
