     Swamp Pond is always a pleasure to visit. So much exciting stuff to do at Swamp Pond, so little time. Have a delightful hiking adventure along the Nature Trail, and if you're stopping by from Rutland, you won't be the only one. At Swamp Pond during the months of summer highs are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Swamp Pond.  
   This lake is so wonderful. Maple Grove Cottages is a brilliant place to get some rest, and Middlebury River is a tremendous whitewater spot nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. A perfect site for whitewater paddling close to Swamp Pond is Otter Creek, and one of the principal highlights of the surroundings of Swamp Pond is Bald Hill. Stay the night at Lake Dunmore Kampersville, and near Swamp Pond you hit upon a golf course called Neshobe Golf Club.

               Pond is a tremendous spot to camp, Smoke Rise Family Campground is a tremendous spot, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Chandler Ridge Trail. If you need a location to stay Birdcage Bed & Breakfast is a splendid choice, and on a glorious day you can go to Brandon Swamp, a swamp right next door to Swamp Pond. While you're here at Swamp Pond you can take a hike along the Falls of Lana Trail, and it's a delightful idea to stop by Arnold Brook.
From a precipitation point of view Swamp Pond is a rather typical site; through August this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
