The amount of precipitation that falls at Sunset Lake is close to the national average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. There's great hiking along the Glen Lake Trail, and at Sunset Lake you can catch a sight of Bishop Hill. Sunrise Lake Dam is beautiful       and it's close to Sunset Lake, and a great swamp near Sunset Lake is Conway Swamp. But wait, there's more to do next to Sunset Lake. If you need a place to stay Edgewater Motel is a magnificent choice, and there are plenty of people from Rutland here at Sunset Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Arnolds Ledge is something you shouldn't miss while you're here at Sunset Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Poultney                  River. Camping is available at Bomoseen State Park Campground, and don't leave Sunset Lake without first going for a hike along the Half Moon Pond Trail. A good close by hotel is Lake Bomoseen Inn, and a perfect site to camp here at Sunset Lake is Half Moon State Park Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Prospect Bay Country Club is a golf course near Sunset Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial. Through the days of summer highs here at Sunset Lake get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's.
