There's always Sunrise Lake Dam to have a look at right next door to Sunset Lake, and the top of Bishop Hill is easily spotted from Sunset Lake. Summertime highs at Sunset Lake generally tend to be in the 80's while night lows are ordinarily in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's while Sunset Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. | | is a glorious spot to spend a night or two, and at Sunset Lake you always meet someone from Rutland. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Sunset Lake and you like golf, you can visit Prospect Bay Country Club, and you can go for a hike on the Glen Lake Trail. & Suites is a glorious site to get some rest, and swamps are interesting spots and Conway Swamp near Sunset Lake is no exception. You truly have to love Sunset Lake. Going for a hike on the Half Moon Pond Trail is always a wonderful
adventure, and almost certainly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Mud Pond is just a very short distance away. The amount of rain that falls at Sunset Lake is close to the national average; the month of August is the wettest
with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. You feel that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Sunset Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Bomoseen State Park Campground is a wonderful local
campground, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial. There's so much to do here at Sunset Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Half Moon State Park Campground is a tremendous place for that, and Arnolds Ledge is an attention-grabbing site to stop at while at Sunset Lake.

Country Village Campgrounds

The bath house is clean and spacious with hot showers, and it is located right in the middle of the campground for easy access to all sites. A trip to Country Village Campground wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Branbury State Park; nearby you hit upon the Silver Lake Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Camping in Vermont is such a fun thing to do. All the nice local attractions in close proximity and the nice variety of outdoors recreation will certainly have you coming back persistently.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Fern Lake which is small and pristine. At this campground you will always have a delightful time. Getting to Neshobe River from Country Village Campground is simple, and Middlebury River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby.
Outdoor recreation is bountiful, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is swimming, playing golf at Neshobe Golf Club, whitewater paddling, hiking, and fishing, so you won’t run out of things to do.

Keewaydin Trail
 | 16 miles away White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak.... |

 | 19 miles away 4 PHOTOS Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go.
