There are some delightful whitewater spots on Little River - West Branch, and folks from Barre love to come here. At Sterling Pond you can catch a sight of Madonna Peak, and Sterling Pond is a wonderful place to camp, Gold Brook Campground is a wonderful place. And if that's not enough there's plenty more cool things to do in the Green Mountains. Camping at Sterling Pond is splendid fun, Brewster River Campground       is a splendid local campground. Just can't get enough of the Green Mountains. If you need a location to stay Smuggler's Notch Inn is a good choice; some interesting geology is available here, Elephants Head is right here. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant nearby hotel is Stowe Inn at The Mountain and Condominiums, and there's whitewater on Lamoille River for all you adrenaline junkies. Man, is there loads of amusing stuff to do in the neighborhood of                  Sterling Pond. Big Spring is always fun to check out, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Stowe is quite near. A large amount of precipitation falls at Sterling Pond; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Near Sterling Pond you hit upon magnificent places like Chilcoot Pass, and Morristown Municipal Forest is a glorious forest area nearby. If the weather is nice here at Sterling Pond, you can go for a hike along the Nose Dive Trail, and Sterling Pond sits in the shade of the Sterling Range. High temperatures at Sterling Pond during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 20's while Sterling Pond night low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 0's. And that's not all the things to do here in the Green Mountains. Hiking along the The Long Trail is nice fun; the skiing at Smugglers Notch is delightful. The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place.
