Spruce Lake is a wet site that gets a lot of precipitation; during August this area sees the most rain; February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Haystack, and there are other places here than Spruce Lake, for example Lake Raponda. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Spruce Lake, so little time. | |

Viking Motel & Restaurant is a good site to get some rest; if you come at the right time of year, Deerfield River offers some magnificent whitewater. Go for a hike on the Ghost Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Horizon Inn is
a glorious choice. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Spruce Lake without first going for a hike along the Mount Olga Trail, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Snow since you're here. Spruce
Lake Dam is charming and it's in the neighborhood of Spruce Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Spruce Lake has to offer, you can camp at Moss Hollow Campground. There's glorious hiking along the Deerfield Ridge Trail, and there are some great whitewater spots on Green River.
