Good hiking is available along the Baker Peak Trail, and if you get bored of South Village Pond you could also pop by nearby Dufresne Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Little Mad Tom Brook is a stream you can stop at while       you're here, and a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Big Branch. At South Village Pond through the months of summer highs are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows in the 0's for South Village Pond. You truly ought to fancy South Village Pond.
