South Stream Dam has magnificent water scenery and it's right next door to South Stream Pond, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Jiminy Peak. What a place this is for outdoors people. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Greylock Ski Club since you're here, and MT Anthony Country Club is a brilliant golf course close by. Paddling       on Walloomsac River is so much fun, and people from Bennington love to come here. The summit of The Dome can be distinguished from South Stream Pond, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Old Stage Trail. An average amount of rainfall falls at South Stream Pond; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. South Stream Pond truly is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. Knights Inn Bennington                  is a perfect place to get some rest, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Taconic Crest Trail. Some of the water close by flows, like Roaring Branch, and dry warm beds await you at Catamount Motel. This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Green River in a kayak, unsurprisingly you could also take a look at Barber Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. South Stream Pond is a great spot to camp, Merck Forest Foundation is a great spot; if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Bald Mountain Trail. Camping at South Stream Pond is wonderful fun, Shady Acres Campground is a wonderful local campground, and Bennington Municipal Forest is worth stopping at. During the warm months at South Stream Pond temperatures are frequently in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's.
