If you are in Rutland county it's always a good idea to stop by South Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at South Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Chittenden Brook Campground is a good place for that, and the Circle Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is one of the great places here in the Green Mountains. Everybody loves The Basin, and do go to Lefferts Dam if you're here. So many amusing things to do here in

| | the Green Mountains, too fine to be true. Here at South Pond you'll most likely meet some folks from Rutland. Good hiking is available along the South Pond Trail, and you can hit the slopes at Pico Mountain in close proximity. Man, is there a heap of exciting things to do in the Green Mountains. The sight of delightful Daves Peak near South Pond is perfect, and there's pleasant hiking along the Canty Trail. Golf can be played at White River Golf Course, | |

and Econo Lodge Killington Area is a nice spot to get some rest. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do right next door to South Pond. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Killington, and if you
need a place to stay Mendon Mountainview Lodge is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Hapgood Pond - Green Mountain National Forest is a glorious place to do that, and a beautiful lake like Chittenden Reservoir
is a magnificent place to check out. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing stuff just keep reading. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Clarendon River, and The Elbow is a fine place to spend some time. South
Pond gets a common amount of yearly rain; most of the rain falls during August; February is when it's the driest. Summer brings highs in the 80's to South Pond. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. For the duration of the
winter highs are usually in the 20's with temperatures at South Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. You simply should love the Green Mountains. If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mill River; lakes are such calm places, why not visit Lefferts Pond.
