    The beauty of Somerset Reservoir is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Haystack since you're here. Through the warm months highs here at Somerset Reservoir reach the 80's, and the overnight is a tad chillier of course, usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Somerset Reservoir. This lake is one of the great places  
   here in the Green Mountains.
And if that's not sufficient, there's a load more to do near Somerset Reservoir. In the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Deerfield River - East Branch. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Somerset Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Maryville Campground and Gift Shop. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at North Branch Club, and what
 
               would winter be without some skiing at Mount Snow. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Green Mountains. The Deerfield Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best, and good water scenery is available at Somerset Dam in the vicinity of Somerset Reservoir.
So many exciting things in the Green Mountains, just tremendous. Deerfield River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by; this is a popular site for folks from Bennington. A good deal of rain falls at Somerset Reservoir; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. If you need a site to stay Snow Lake Lodge is a tremendous choice; hiking along the Deerfield Ridge Trail is tremendous fun.
Somerset Reservoir is right by the Deerfield Trail, and you can stay the night at Red Mill Brook Campground.
