Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Smith Pond. A pleasant spot for whitewater paddling near Smith Pond is Minister Brook, and Slayton Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Green Mountains. During your tour to Smith Pond you'll       meet some folks from Barre for sure, and The Inn at Montpelier is a great location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Winooski River, and Smith Pond is right by the Osmore Pond Hiking Loop. If you came for an overnight stay Spooners Trailer Park and Campground is a brilliant place to camp, and the scenery at Valley Lake Dam is lovely. Smith Pond in fact is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors                  paradise. Green Valley Campground is a brilliant campground nearby, and the Owls Head Trail offers hiking at its best. Smith Pond is a quite wet place regularly with much precipitation; most of the rain falls through August while February is regularly the driest month. The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful. But wait, there's more amusing things to do in the Green Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Hilltop Inn; there's good hiking along the Kettle Pond Trail. Everybody close by loves skiing at Stowe. This lake is so wonderful.
