     There are perfect locations to explore along the Duval Trail; a great close by hotel is Highlander Motel. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting things the Green Mountains has to offer. People from Rutland love to come to Smith Pond, and a round of golf at nearby Neshobe Golf Club is a great way to kill some time. Smith Pond is a beautiful lake in the Green Mountains.
If you need a location to stay Rutland Killington Red Roof Inn is a splendid
 
   choice; a stunning lake like Butler Pond is a magnificent place to check out. Having a splendid time in the Green Mountains is simple. Do visit Sargent Pond in the neighborhood of Smith Pond, it's a picturesque lake; why not camp at Smoke Rise Family Campground if you're here at Smith Pond. Camping is available at Country Village Campgrounds; there are some great whitewater spots on Clarendon River.
This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Chandler
 
               Ridge Trail, and there's whitewater on Otter Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Smith Pond is a good place of normal precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture.
Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff near Smith Pond. Don't leave Smith Pond without first going for a hike along the Leicester Hollow Trail; Killington is a splendid local ski area. Summertime highs at Smith Pond usually tend to be in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and overnight lows during the winter for Smith Pond tend to be in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. A forest in close proximity to Smith Pond is Proctor Village Municipal Forest, and the skiing at Pico Mountain is pleasant.
