This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Jay Peak is just what you need. Smith Pond is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent location to camp here at Smith Pond is Mill Brook Campground; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is       a wonderful site to spend a night or two. Now, you may assume that's lots but there's even more fun things to do here in the Green Mountains. Dunn Brook is near Smith Pond and is always a diversion to take a look at; get yourself into a kayak and hit Clyde River. All through the summer months at Smith Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in                  the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Smith Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Green Mountains is great! Going for a hike on the Mount Pisgah East Trail is always a pleasant adventure; get soaked paddling on Barton River. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not pop by Walker Pond in the vicinity of Smith Pond, and Smith Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Tree Corners Family Campground is a glorious local campground. The peak of Cleveland Hill can be made out from Smith Pond, and nearby you discover the Pisgah Trail which is a fine hiking trail. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up.
