     The beauty of Silver Lake attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the North Shore Trail; Silver Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Homestead Campgrounds is a wonderful local campground. There's so much to do here at Silver Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Maple Grove Campground is a glorious spot for that; hey, Gotta ski right? Cochran Ski Center is a perfect spot to do that. Silver  
   Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is January.
Beaver Meadow Brook is a splendid local stream; what would winter be without some skiing at Bolton Valley. All the outdoors cool things in the vicinity of Silver Lake will keep you coming back many times. Going for a hike on the Southern Tip Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and paddling
 
               on Mill Brook is so much fun. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge St. Albans, and whitewater paddling is brilliant on Browns River.
This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at Arrowhead Golf Course not far from Silver Lake, and Silver Lake Dam is not far at all from Silver Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Saint Albans Reservoir; from Silver Lake you get a glorious sight of Cushman Hill. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Silver Lake highs are frequently in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at Silver Lake all through the winter generally sink into the 0's.
Not far from Silver Lake, you'll stumble on Saint Albans Reservoir North which is a pretty lake, and there are plenty of people from Burlington-South Burlington here. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! Silver Lake is unbeatable! After a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn & Suites St. Albans is a good place to spend a night or two, and there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the Island Farm Nature Trail.

... Rd. about five miles upstream of the put in). Putting in at the Rte. 128 bridge in Westford, at this level you find about 1/4 mile of class II water until you reach the covered bridge in Westford. There is a diagonal hole just below the covered bridge which is right above a partially washed out dam. We ran the 8ft dam on the far right successfully and continued down river. The rapids below here at this level are good class III+ in places mixed with lots of fast moving flat water. There are 3 or 4 somewhat technical ledge drops ranging in height from 3ft to 6ft. After scouting, we ran everything. Once we hit the Lamoille, which was running around 5000cfs, it was big water class II and III down to Georgia. The ledge drop and run out rapid above the High Bridge were HUGE. If the air wasn't so cold and the wind blowing so hard, we could have used the big recirculating edies there to surf all afternoon.
