    It's always fun to stop by Silver Lake. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Silver Lake; the month with most of the rain is August, and February meanwhile is the driest month. All the outdoors amusing things in the Green Mountains will keep you coming back many times. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Middlebury River It's always great to check out Falls of Lana. Be careful coming to the Green Mountains, you might  
   not ever wanna go home again. Here at Silver Lake you'll in all probability meet some folks from Rutland, and Otter Creek has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by.
And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing stuff just keep reading. You're probably addicted to lakes, Sucker Brook Reservoir is one of those nearby; the view of beautiful Mount Moosalamoo is great. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Silver Lake you can take a hike
 
               along the Chandler Ridge Trail, and you must without doubt explore Rattlesnake Point while here.
Yeah, come up here to the Green Mountains for a great time. Silver Lake Dam is a site that is next to Silver Lake, and while you're here and you like golf, you can stop by Neshobe Golf Club. Silver Lake is located in the Green Mountains. If you need a site to stay Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury is a fine choice. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Silver Lake has to offer, you can camp at Point Counterpoint.
Through the summertime months here at Silver Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 80's with night lows in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Silver Lake. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do right next door to Silver Lake. Silver Lake is a wonderful place to visit for more than one day, United State Forest Service Silver Lake Campground is a wonderful place to camp nearby; everyone close by loves skiing at Mad River Glen. This lake is so wonderful. On a great day at Silver Lake you can take a hike along the Falls of Lana Trail, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Barnard Brook.
The skiing at Sugarbush is splendid, and going for a hike along the Silver Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant nearby hotel is The Middlebury Inn. Lakes are glorious; Lake Dunmore is a lake that's in close proximity to Silver Lake.

White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak....

Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Fern Lake which is small and pristine.
At this campground you will always have a delightful time. Getting to Neshobe River from Country Village Campground is simple, and Middlebury River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby.

Outdoor recreation is bountiful, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is swimming, playing golf at Neshobe Golf Club, whitewater paddling, hiking, and fishing, so you won’t run out of things to do.

The folks who look after the campground and all the nice pastime activities will make you feel at home. Quite a lot of cool stuff to do next to Country Village Campground, and it's one of those places where everything is close.

If only every location had this much outdoor entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be. A tremendous place like Half Moon Pond State Park is near Country Village Campground and is too wonderful to leave out, and going for a hike on the Falls of Lana Trail is always a perfect adventure. Been to Chittenden Brook Campgound for the last 15 years now...Best place I have ever camped anywhere in New England...Great babbling brook, thick woods..and not many camp sites!! This is true rustic camping...the only things offered at the campground is an outhouse and a brook for bathing..(coldest water I've ever been in).. wonderful hiking trails... beautiful beaver pond.... and generally some wonderful people around to sit around a fire with!!...

Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go. I am enclosing a picture i took on June 19th 2007....

The lake has a healthy population of very aggressive watersnakes, non-poisoness, but they like to get in boats...if you are curious about these creatures go to the two small Islands for a look....
