The high level of rainfall makes Shippee Pond a rather wet place; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. There's so much to do here at Shippee Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Country Aire Campgrounds is a nice site for that, and Mount Snow is a great local ski area. The skiing at Haystack is tremendous; Shippee Pond Dam is a scenic place.
Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Shippee Pond, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's
with temperatures at Shippee Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. This place, Shippee Pond, it clearly has so much outdoors fun stuff. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Deerfield River, and on a good day you can
take a hike along the Ghost Trail.
The summit of Underwood Hill can be seen from Shippee Pond, and if you need a site to stay Horizon Inn is a good choice.
