This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Joe's Brook River is so much fun. There's so much to do here at Shadow Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Belview Campground is a glorious location for that. From a rainfall point of view Shadow Lake is a quite typical spot; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful.

| | This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Black Hills can be spotted from Shadow Lake, and the skiing at Lyndon Outing Club is great. If you came to camp Tree Corners Family Campground is a brilliant place to do that. There are other locations here than Shadow Lake, for example Runaway Pond; the South Shore Hiking Trail is a fine hiking trail nearby. 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area, and Barton River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. Summertime highs at Shadow Lake regularly tend to be in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Highs all through
the winter are generally in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Shadow Lake. But wait, there's more to do near Shadow Lake. Not far from Shadow Lake, you'll find Mud Pond which is a picturesque lake, and nearby
you find the Mount Pisgah Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. Shadow Lake Dam is gorgeous and it's close to Shadow Lake, and everyone close by loves skiing at Burke Mountain. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in
the Green Mountains. On a great day at Shadow Lake you can take a hike along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail, and after a long day outdoors Fairbanks Inn is a perfect site to spend a night or two.

It is a lake that talks to you, as far as my opinion goes. I lived in Newport,Newport Center (Bear Mountain) and Noth Troy when I was bewtween the ages of 9-13. I am now 42!
