If you came for an overnight stay Will-o-wood Campground is a good spot to camp. Throughout the summer months at Seymour Lake temperatures are typically in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. You can run the rapids of Barton River in close proximity to Seymour Lake, and a nice close by hotel is Holiday Motel and Annex. Mount Pisgah Trail, needless to say you could also stop at Echo Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Seymour Lake is located in the Green Mountains. Be careful coming to the Green Mountains, you might not ever want to
return back home again. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a delightful choice; hiking along the South Shore Hiking Trail is brilliant fun. Yeah, come up here to the Green Mountains for a pleasant time.
Looking for some flowing water? Try Allyn Brook, and if you've had enough of Seymour Lake, Mud Pond is close by. Burke Mountain is a very popular ski area close by, and White Caps Campground is a pleasant campground nearby. An

It is a lake that talks to you, as far as my opinion goes. I lived in Newport,Newport Center (Bear Mountain) and Noth Troy when I was bewtween the ages of 9-13. I am now 42!
I just recently went back to Newport and that beautiful lake that talked to me, and i think it helped me figure out a part of my life that has been a little bit difficult to understand and move ahead.
