It's always fun to stop by Lake Salem. There are wonderful locations to look at along the Mount Pisgah Trail, and Chargo Campground is a nice local campground. Going for a hike on the Mount Pisgah East Trail is always a great adventure, and you acquire a tremendous view of Bates Hill from here. At Lake Salem through the days of summer highs are in the 70's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 20's,

| | and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Lake Salem descend into the 0's. Lake Salem gets a common amount of annual precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. Lakes? visit to Coche Brook while you're here at Lake Salem, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Barton River. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport
Area, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Clyde River. Newport Country Club is a nice golf course nearby, and Lake Derby is a magnificent lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. Char- BO Campground is a great campground
nearby; you can hit the slopes at Burke Mountain around here. Near Lake Salem you find the Pisgah Trail which is a glorious hiking trail.
