     All the outdoors cool stuff in the Green Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. You can run the rapids of Barton River right next door to Runaway Pond, and why not camp at Belview Campground since you're here at Runaway Pond. You can see Black Hills from Runaway Pond, and hiking along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail is perfect fun. A great nearby hotel is Fairbanks Inn, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Burke Mountain if  
   you're here.
This lake is so wonderful. A lovely lake like Clarks Pond in close proximity to Runaway Pond is a nice site to stop by; if you're here you can take a hike along the Mount Pisgah Trail. Going for a hike along the South Shore Hiking Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; do pop by Horse Pond, it's a scenic lake. Yeah, come up here to the Green Mountains for a glorious time. Getting to Morrison Brook from Runaway Pond is uncomplicated,
 
               and Shadow Lake Dam is a pretty place.
An average amount of rainfall falls at Runaway Pond; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Runaway Pond is a beautiful lake in the Green Mountains. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things the area near Runaway Pond has to offer. If you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a wonderful choice; Joe's Brook River is a glorious whitewater spot close by.
High temperatures at Runaway Pond throughout the summertime months are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Runaway Pond descend into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Lyndon Outing Club, and Injun Joe Court is a glorious local campground. And that's not all you can do here at Runaway Pond.

I am suprised that I am being ask to be the first person to give input on this beautiful lake that spans northern VT into Canada. It is a lake that talks to you, as far as my opinion goes. I lived in Newport,Newport Center (Bear Mountain) and Noth Troy when I was bewtween the ages of 9-13. I am now 42!

I just recently went back to Newport and that beautiful lake that talked to me, and i think it helped me figure out a part of my life that has been a little bit difficult to understand and move ahead. I Do have somr pictures in some old photo albumd, and I will make an effort to submit,
