Summer at Rood Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Rood Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on White River - First Branch, and Patterson and Holden Dam is an out of the ordinary       thing to check out. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Green Mountains. Really good skiing awaits you at Twin Farms, and Hilltop Inn is a great site to get some rest. So much fun stuff to do in the Green Mountains, not sufficient time. Rood Pond rocks! Whitewater paddling is fine on Mad River; of course, A trip to Williamstown Gulf is always fun. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of people from Barre here, and the Bear Hill Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Rood Pond is a perfect location to visit for more than one day, Limehurst Lake is a perfect location to camp nearby. Rood Pond is a good location of normal rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
