    Beautiful Roach Pond has much to offer visitors. Roach Pond is a good spot of normal precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is February. A good place to camp here at Roach Pond is Big D Campground. Roach Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Half Moon State Park Campground is a glorious local campground, and dry warm beds await you at The Middlebury Inn.
You can run the rapids of
 
   Otter Creek next to Roach Pond; going for a hike on the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of people from Rutland here, and after a long day outdoors Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury is a good place to spend a night or two. Austin Pond Dam is a location that is close to Roach Pond, and you can go for a hike on the Bomoseen Hiking Loop.
This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun.
 
               For you golfers we recommend nearby Prospect Bay Country Club; Roach Pond is not the only place close by, Lake Hortonia is a close by lake. Through the summertime highs here at Roach Pond reach the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are ordinarily in the 20's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Roach Pond tend to be in the 0's. Barber Ledge is something you shouldn't miss if you're here at Roach Pond, and a good site for whitewater paddling is Poultney River.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a little tour to Giddings Brook if you're here at Roach Pond; there are great sites to look at along the Half Moon Pond Trail.
