If you like lakes and you're in this part of Vermont you can check out Randolph Reservoir. So much fun stuff to do here in the Green Mountains, too pleasant to be true. Take a hike on the Bear Hill Trail. There's so much to do here at Randolph Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Abel Mountain Campground is a fine place for that. That right there is heaps already, but it continues; Randolph Reservoir has it all. Lots of people from Barre come to

a picturesque stream that is worth stopping at, and not far from Randolph Reservoir you'll come across Pickles Pond which is a lovely lake. And that's not all you can do here at Randolph Reservoir. If you're here at Randolph Reservoir
and you like golf, you can pop by Montague Golf Club; Woodstock Inn And Resort is a pleasant place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit White River, and Randolph Municipal Forest is a
perfect forest area close by. The annual rainfall here at Randolph Reservoir is about average; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. If you come at the right time of
year, White River - First Branch offers some great whitewater, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Suicide Six while you're here.

This is true rustic camping...the only things offered at the campground is an outhouse and a brook for bathing..(coldest water I've ever been in).. wonderful hiking trails... beautiful beaver pond.... and generally some wonderful people around to sit around a fire with!!... |
