    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Vermont you can check out Randolph Reservoir. So much fun stuff to do here in the Green Mountains, too pleasant to be true. Take a hike on the Bear Hill Trail. There's so much to do here at Randolph Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Abel Mountain Campground is a fine place for that. That right there is heaps already, but it continues; Randolph Reservoir has it all. Lots of people from Barre come to  
   Randolph Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Clark Brook Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn At Maplewood.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Mud Pond; what would winter be without some skiing at Twin Farms. Randolph Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Champagne Campground is a great local campground,
 
               and hiking along the Barnard Trail is good fun. High temperatures at Randolph Reservoir during the summertime are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and night lows at Randolph Reservoir all through the winter commonly sink into the 0's.
Randolph Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains. Man, is there a heap of cool stuff to do in the Green Mountains. Adams Brook is a picturesque stream that is worth stopping at, and not far from Randolph Reservoir you'll come across Pickles Pond which is a lovely lake. And that's not all you can do here at Randolph Reservoir. If you're here at Randolph Reservoir and you like golf, you can pop by Montague Golf Club; Woodstock Inn And Resort is a pleasant place to get some rest.
This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit White River, and Randolph Municipal Forest is a perfect forest area close by. The annual rainfall here at Randolph Reservoir is about average; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. If you come at the right time of year, White River - First Branch offers some great whitewater, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Suicide Six while you're here.

Been to Chittenden Brook Campgound for the last 15 years now...Best place I have ever camped anywhere in New England...Great babbling brook, thick woods..and not many camp sites!! This is true rustic camping...the only things offered at the campground is an outhouse and a brook for bathing..(coldest water I've ever been in).. wonderful hiking trails... beautiful beaver pond.... and generally some wonderful people around to sit around a fire with!!...

South of Rutland rt 7 south to rt 140 east. Entrance is not easily seen. A up hill right off 140 then a quick left up hill, and a quick right again. Just a little sign. Before the right turn on 140 you will see white rocks used as drainage. the turn is shortly there after. Rocky road. Hope this helps....
