If you are in Orleans county it's always a good idea to stop by Pensioner Pond. All through the months of summer here at Pensioner Pond, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Pensioner Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Don't leave Pensioner Pond without first going for a hike along

| | the Pisgah Trail; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a great spot to spend a night or two. And if that's not enough there's plenty more cool stuff to do in the Green Mountains. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Burke Mountain is in the vicinity of Pensioner Pond, and if you want to hit the beach, Balm of Gilead Beach is in the neighborhood.

with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Now, you may think that's a load but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Green Mountains. You can run the rapids of Clyde River in the vicinity of Pensioner
Pond, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Pensioner Pond; Mount Pisgah Trail is a good local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Pensioner Pond Dam is worth checking out if you're here, and a great site for whitewater paddling
is Barton River.
This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Will-o-wood Campground if you're here at Pensioner Pond, and the top of Oliver Hill is easily seen from Pensioner Pond. There's wonderful hiking along the Mount Pisgah
East Trail, and you'll find a delightful lake called Toad Pond. Pensioner Pond is a beautiful lake in the Green Mountains.
And if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do near Pensioner Pond. Camping is available at Chargo
Campground. The skiing at Lyndon Outing Club is nice; if you need a location to stay Holiday Motel and Annex is a pleasant choice. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great globe it would be. Nutting Brook is a perfect spot to pop by, and do explore Lubber Lake, it's a gorgeous lake.
