Do stop by Patch Pond while you're in this part of Vermont. The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent location to camp here at Patch Pond is Hapgood Pond - Green Mountain National Forest; a day on the slopes of Killington is just what you need. Rocky Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore, and dry warm beds await you at Highlander Motel. Just can't get enough of the Green Mountains. Not far from Patch Pond

| | you obtain some wonderful water scenery at Patch Dam; Mill River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. The yearly rainfall here at Patch Pond is about average; through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. by flows, like East Creek; the Canty Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close by. Near Patch Pond you come across the South Pond Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail, and a wooded area close by is Rutland Municipal Forest. A golf
course right next door to Patch Pond is Rutland Country Club; there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the New Boston Trail. You truly have to go for Patch Pond. While you're here at Patch Pond, you could also explore lovely
Dunklee Pond, and if you need a spot to stay Rodeway Inn Rutland is a pleasant choice. Throughout the months of summer here at Patch Pond, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Patch Pond. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's even more exciting things to do here in the Green Mountains.
And if that's not enough there's plenty more exciting stuff to do in the Green Mountains. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clarendon River, and during your journey here you'll meet some people from Rutland for sure.
