If you are in Caledonia county it's always a good idea to stop by Newark Pond. The annual rainfall here at Newark Pond is about average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Arcadia Brook flows through this vicinity, and from Newark Pond you get a splendid panorama of McSherry Mountain. This lake is located in the wonderful Green Mountains. White Caps Campground is a tremendous local campground, and after a long day outdoors Fairbanks Inn is a good location to spend a night or two. place to camp; there are perfect locations to explore along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Moose River in a kayak; Brown Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit.
