    Nelson Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful. For the duration of the warmest time of the year highs here at Nelson Pond reach the 60's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 10's; overnight lows at Nelson Pond through the wintertime commonly drop into the 0's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Green Mountains. In case  
   you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Minister Brook, and if you need a location to stay Hilltop Inn is a brilliant choice.
If the weather is delightful here at Nelson Pond, you can go for a hike along the Kettle Pond Trail; after a long day outdoors The Inn at Montpelier is a glorious spot to spend a night or two. Winooski River has a delightful whitewater paddling spot nearby, and on a great day you can take a hike
 
               along the Bear Hill Trail. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Green Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. While you're here at Nelson Pond, you could also explore beautiful Horn of the Moon Pond, and camping is available at Lazy Lions Campground.
Nelson Pond gets a lot of water; most of the rain falls during August while February is commonly the driest month. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Nelson Pond. The panorama of lovely Long Meadow Hill near Nelson Pond is splendid, and you'll meet a lot of people from Barre here. This lake is so wonderful. Nelson Pond is near Adamant Pond Dam which is a stunning site undeniably worth visiting; a great place to camp here at Nelson Pond is Green Valley Campground.
Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Nelson Pond. A wooded neighborhood near Nelson Pond is East Montpelier Municipal Forest. This lake is so wonderful. Do go to Chapels Pond in the vicinity of Nelson Pond, it's a pretty lake, and a quick trip to Beaver Meadow Brook is positively a pleasant idea. The Silver Ledge Trail is a good hiking trail near Nelson Pond, and picturesque scenery and good skiing is what you obtain at Stowe.
