A pleasant close by hotel is Birdcage Bed & Breakfast; you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Bomoseen Hiking Loop. Mudd Pond is a glorious place to camp, Big D Campground is a glorious place, and if you're a golfer then a wonderful close by course is Prospect Bay Country Club. Throughout the months of summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Mudd Pond. When the night sets in temperatures fall down       into the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 20's; nighttime lows during the winter for Mudd Pond tend to be in the 0's. If you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clarendon River. Mudd Pond is a good spot of normal rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is when it's the driest.
