What a nice lake Mud Ponds is. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Stillwater Pond, and Lyndon Outing Club is a very popular ski area close at hand. The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
At Mud Ponds during the warm months highs are in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are mostly in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter

Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Ponds; Red Pine Trail is a delightful local trail; there's whitewater on Clyde River for all you thrill seekers. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Mud Ponds. Will-o-wood Campground is a pleasant campground here; Dolif Mountain is clearly visible from Mud Ponds.

local campground; you can hit the slopes at Burke Mountain in the vicinity. Having a glorious time in the Green Mountains is trouble-free. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Main Trail; get your heart beating on the tremendous
whitewater of Nulhegan River. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Shore Trail, and if you need a place to stay Random House is a good choice.
But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the Green Mountains.
Take a side spree to Cold Brook, and dry warm beds await you at Clyde River Hotel. The annual precipitation here at Mud Ponds is about average; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is February.
