Days Inn Barre Montpelier is a brilliant place to get some rest, and drift down the rapids of Lamoille River - Wild Branch in a kayak. Idle Hours Campground is a splendid local campground; why not take a refreshing hike along the Kettle Pond Trail. Larry and Sons Campground is a nice campground nearby, and you can have a fine hiking adventure along the Owls Head Trail. Mud Pond is a beautiful lake       in the Green Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop by East Long Pond since you're here at Mud Pond; it's nearby; while you're here and you like golf, you can explore Woodbury Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something close to Mud Pond? West Hill Pond is in the neighborhood; do take a hike on the Osmore Pond Hiking Loop. Having a pleasant time in the Green Mountains is easy. After a long day outdoors Hollow Inn and Motel                  is a good location to spend a night or two, and the cheerful folks of Barre like to hang out nearby. Mud Pond frequently gets a good deal of precipitation; August is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is February. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Mud Pond reach the 60's while overnight lows are typically in the 50's. All through the winter the highs are typically in the 10's, and overnight lows at Mud Pond throughout the wintertime generally dip into the 0's.
