This lake is so wonderful. Get drenched paddling on Winooski River, and a magnificent place to camp here at Mud Pond is Larry and Sons Campground. Mud Pond is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains. And if that's not enough there's a lot more enjoyable stuff to do in the Green Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Lamoille River - Wild Branch, and Nichols Pond Dam is a striking place. Near Mud       Pond you come across the Owls Head Trail which is a glorious hiking trail, and camping at Idle Hours Campground is always a tremendous experience. Be careful coming to Mud Pond, you might not ever wanna return home again. There is a good hiking trail close to Mud Pond called the Osmore Pond Hiking Loop; why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Woodbury Golf Course. Mud Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; throughout the month of August                  you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Green Mountains. The Kettle Pond Trail is a brilliant hiking trail in the neighborhood of Mud Pond, and after a long day outdoors Lakeview Inn is a great place to spend a night or two. All through the summertime highs here at Mud Pond get into the 60's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Mud Pond are in the 0's. Mud Pond is a spot with many visitors from Barre, and you're most likely keen on lakes, Coits Pond is one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
