This lake is so wonderful. You'll find a delightful lake called Bullhead Pond near Mud Pond, and a magnificent nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel Ticonderoga. The amount of rainfall that falls at Mud Pond is close to the national average; during August this area sees the most rain; the driest month is February. There is a tremendous hiking trail in close proximity to Mud Pond called the Half Moon Pond Trail; Doughty Hill is a peak you can see from Mud Pond. So much cool stuff in the Adirondack Mountains, just impressive. You simply have to have a look at Blue Ledge since you're here at Mud Pond, and close by you locate Benson Bay. enjoy all the fun stuff close to Mud Pond. While you're here at Mud Pond, you could also go to charming Doughty Pond, and if you came to camp Half Moon State Park Campground is a perfect location to do that. If you like swamps,
you're in luck, Strong Swamp is right nearby, and getting to Big Brook from Mud Pond is uncomplicated. And that's not all there is to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. Near Mud Pond you stumble on the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial
which is a good hiking trail. There's so much to do here at Mud Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Bomoseen State Park Campground is a good place for that. What a site this is for outdoors folks. This lake is one of
the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. You can run the rapids of Poultney River near Mud Pond, and if you need a spot to stay Best Western Ticonderoga Inn & Suites is a splendid choice. If you're dropping by Mud Pond from Rutland, you won't be the only one, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Glen Lake Trail.

Country Village Campgrounds

There are also many wonderful events held in the village including weekly farmers markets, and several festivals and parades throughout the year.
Country Village Campground has 41 spacious sites that can accommodate small tents all the way up to the largest of campers. The bath house is clean and spacious with hot showers, and it is located right in the middle of the campground for easy access to all sites. A trip to Country Village Campground wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Branbury State Park; nearby you hit upon the Silver Lake Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Camping in Vermont is such a fun thing to do. All the nice local attractions in close proximity and the nice variety of outdoors recreation will certainly have you coming back persistently.
