    Mud Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Having a splendid time at Mud Pond is trouble-free. Mud Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Tree Corners Family Campground is a great local campground, and for you golfers we recommend close by Orleans Country Club. On a great day at Mud Pond you can take a hike along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail, and the top of Allen Hill is easily seen from Mud Pond. This lake is so wonderful.  
   A tremendous place for whitewater paddling near Mud Pond is Clyde River.
A magnificent place to camp here at Mud Pond is Belview Campground, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Baker Pond. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! The Green Mountains is excellent! The Mount Pisgah Trail is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Mud Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area. The Green
 
               Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
Throughout the summer at Mud Pond highs are usually in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 20's while Mud Pond overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Near Mud Pond you discover the South Shore Hiking Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. Lakes? Sure, Lake Parker is in the vicinity. The amount of rainfall that falls at Mud Pond is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest of the months is February.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the Green Mountains has to offer. You can run the rapids of Barton River right next door to Mud Pond, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Lyndon Outing Club.

Jay Peak is well known for its glades and extreme chutes but there's more to the mountain than just expert terrain ? like The Zone, Jay Peak's learning area, which includes 4 lifts that access 11 trails and introductory glades....
Hmm? Jay Peak seems like it has two peaks, shouldn't it be called Jay Peaks? But other than the confusing name I have no complaints. Lots of good runs....
