If you like lakes and you're in this part of Vermont you can check out Mud Pond. Head up to Sugarbush and strap some skis to your feet; a lake close by is Randolph Reservoir. Mud Pond is located in the Green Mountains. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Green Mountains. the rapids of White River - First Branch in a kayak. Here at Mud Pond you'll probably meet some folks from Barre; if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn At Maplewood is a good choice. Mud Pond gets a common amount of annual rainfall;
throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest month is February. Don't leave Mud Pond without first going for a hike along the Bear Hill Trail, naturally you could also take a look at Beaver Pond if
you're here; it's not far at all. And if that's not sufficient, there's heaps more to do close to Mud Pond. All through the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Mud Pond. Summer nighttime lows fall down
to the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Mud Pond descend into the 0's. So many amusing things in the Green Mountains, just phenomenal. Why not camp at Abel Mountain Campground if you're here at Mud Pond, and get wet paddling on White River.

This is true rustic camping...the only things offered at the campground is an outhouse and a brook for bathing..(coldest water I've ever been in).. wonderful hiking trails... beautiful beaver pond.... and generally some wonderful people around to sit around a fire with!!... |

New Boston Trail
